American Gold Eagle

Produced in the U.S. Mint’s Philadelphia and West Point facilities, the American Eagle gold bullion coins were first released in 1986 in four denominations:  1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz coins. Their obverse depicts a modified version of Augustus Saint-Gauden’s famous Lady Liberty that was first designed in 1907, while the reverse features a family of bald eagles designed by sculptor Miley Busiek.
