Walking Liberty Half Dollar

Following the Peace Silver Dollar, the Walking Liberty Half Dollar was the result of the second competition held by the United States Mint in order to find new designs for the coin. Adolph A. Weinman, a student of Augustus Saint-Gaudens, was the winner of the competition and was tasked with designing the coin. The Peace Silver Dollar features a striking rendition of Lady Liberty on its obverse and an eagle on the verge of taking flight on its reverse.
